Back in the day, homes were small for most folk and space was at a premium. This combination chair/table is a prime example of how room square footage was economized, as when not being used for surface area the table folds to sit against a wall and still provides seating. This one — possibly 18th century — is a beauty. The boards are wide and the wood is a beautiful pecan/maple tone. Wooden pegs provide stability and rounded edges soften the table, which was hand-hewn. These don’t come around very often. Interested?
